HYDERABAD: Claiming welfare schemes being implemented in
Telangana have become a role model, TRS president
K Chandrasekhar Rao has said thousands of requests have come in from neighbouring Andhra Pradesh to launch the pink party in that state after the TRS government introduced
Dalit Bandhu scheme.
“Many people in Andhra Pradesh are asking (us) to implement the schemes that are being implemented in Telangana in their state. People from other states want Telangana schemes and (are) also requesting to merge their areas in Telangana.
Raichur (Karnataka) BJP MLA has asked to replicate Telangana schemes in his constituency,”
Chandrasekhar Rao said, during his speech at the TRS plenary at
Hitex on Monday.
A video of BJP MLA,
Shivaraj Patil, stating at a meeting that Raichur would progress if it was merged with Telangana went viral on social media platforms recently.
In the united AP, a Congress leader had predicted that Telangana would plunge into darkness if the separate state was granted. “Now, Telangana’s per capita power consumption is top in the country.AP is not giving 24x7 power to the agriculture sector, but Telangana achieved it. AP’s per capita income now is Rs 1,70,000 crore, while that of Telangana is Rs 2,30,000 crore. Telangana’s per capita income is among the top states in the country,” KCR said.
Saying he dared to dream and strived to deliver, the CM said the state government had completed all pending irrigation projects like Kalwakurthy,
Nettampadu and other schemes in Mahbubnagar apart from redesigning some other projects. “Earlier, people used to migrate to Mumbai or Dubai, now reverse migration has started and people from Bihar and Jharkhand are coming to the state to work as hamalis,’ he added.
Explaining his experience in Delhi, KCR said: “When I went to Delhi to participate in a meeting, CMs of other state asked me how am I managing funds for implementing schemes like Dalit Bandhu... Telangana had registered 11.5% growth last year though the state saw 90-day lockdown due to Covid-19 pandemic,” KCR said. “I told them in the next seven years, Telangana’s budget will reach Rs 4,28,000 crore and the expenditure on various schemes will be Rs 23 lakh crore,” the CM said.
He said due to record production of paddy, rice mills in the state were not able to complete milling activities. “Negative forces are always there in the state and have been trying to stall developmental activities,” he added.
“Hundreds of cases were filed against irrigation projects, construction of secretariat buildings etc.. But, we overcame and successfully achieved desired results.”
