State logs two deaths, 41 new cases

Imphal, October 25 2021: The state on Monday reported two new fatalities and 41 fresh cases of Covid-19 out of 1280 samples tested, registering a positivity rate of 3.20 per cent against 3.57 per cent recorded on Sunday.
The two fatalities took the cumulative tally of fatalities from the viral infection to 1913 and the two latest victims were residents of Imphal East and Imphal West district.
One of them had first dose of Covid-19 vaccine and the other was unvaccinated.
Out of the 16 districts, eight reported Covid cases on Monday with Imphal West reporting highest cases at 21.In terms of positivity rate, Kamjong recorded highest single day positivity rate at 11.1 per cent while Bishnupur district recorded lowest positivity rate at 1.2 per cent.
Chandel, Jiribam, Kangpokpi, Noney, Pherzawl, Senapati, Tamenglong and Tengnoupal districts did not report any new positive cases.
The active caseload came down to 886 on Monday out of which 107 (12.08 per cent) are in home isolation, 297 (33.52 per cent) in CCCs, and 257 (29.01 per cent) in hospitals while whereabouts of 225 patients (25.40 per cent) are not known.
Among the hospitalised patients, 66 are admitted to ICU/HDU wards, 41 are on oxygen support and 12 on ventilator support.
However, there is no report on number of patients on oxygen and ventilator support from JNIMS even though it has 124 patients.
On the other hand, there are three patients on oxygen support in different CCCs.
There is no updated information regarding bed availability but as of Sunday evening, 641 beds including 114 ICU/HDU beds were available in different hospitals, 2880 beds in different Covid Care Centres and 430 beds (29 ICU/HDU) in district hospitals and CHCs.
So far, the state has recorded 93,933 positive cases and 1539 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic.
The current month recorded 2749 new cases and 58 fatalities out of which 529 new cases and 16 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone.
According to official reports, the 41 new cases included 40 civilians (23 male & 17 female) and one jawan of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) and their samples were tested at RIMS (1), JNIMS (5) and other testing centres (35).The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (11), Imphal West (21), Thoubal (2), Bishnupur (1), Kakching (1), Ukhrul (2), Churachandpur (1) and Kamjong (1) .
All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
In the last 24 hours, 84 patients were discharged from home isolation (14), RIMS (7), JNIMS (13) and CCCs (50) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,23,333 (general population - 1,19,008 and CAPF personnel - 4,325).Number of recovered cases is 1,20,534 (general population - 1,16,232 arid CAPF personnel - 4,302) and number of active cases is 886 (general population - 868 and CAPF personnel - 18).The recovery rate is 97.73 per cent.
A total of 594 D-type and 154 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours.
On Sunday, only 2359 vaccine doses were administered and it took the cumulative number of vaccinated individuals to 12,41,752 which inciuded6,48,009 fully vaccinated people.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (42,910), Imphal East (27,291), Thoubal (9430), Churachandpur (10,125), Kangpokpi (2776), Tamenglong (3272), Bishnupur (9140), Senapati (2225), Ukhrul (2924), Kakching (6391), Chandel (2322), Noney (1067), Tengnoupal (1054), Jiribam (1021), Kamjong (921) and Pherzawl (464) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (638), Imphal East (454), Thoubal (173), Churachandpur (160), Kangpokpi (60), Tamenglong (13), Bishnupur (189), Senapati (10), Ukhrul (39), Kakching (111), Chandel (37), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 39,746 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 24,468 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,37,050 tests per million population against the national average of 4,29,799 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.55 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 1280 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 3.20 per cent per cent while the cumulative positivity came down to 9.09 per cent.
