Pak PM Imran Khan meets Army chief Bajwa, ISI chief Lt Gen Hameed

Islamabad, Oct 26 (UNI) Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday held a meeting with Chief of Army Staff Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa and later the two were joined by ISI chief Lt Gen Faiz Hameed, a news report said.

The meeting between Imran Khan and the army chief was a one-on-one, and later they were joined by Hameed, Geo News said.

The meeting came ahead of the announcement of Lt Gen Nadeem Anjum as the next chief of the spy agency.

The meeting focused on a review of the internal law and order situation of the country, said Geo News quoting sources.

In September, in a meeting also attended by Gen Bajwa, PM Imran Khan was given a "comprehensive briefing" on national security and regional dynamics with a focus on the ongoing situation in Afghanistan.

Tuesaday's meeting was held at the Inter Services Intelligence Secretariat.

Key federal ministers and chief ministers of Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were also in attendance, besides the military top brass, it said.

However, Ary News, said that the meeting was held in the Bani Gala residence of the Prime Minister.

It said that Bajwa, Faiz Hameed and “other high-ups attended an important session led by Prime Minister Imran Khan at his Bani Gala residence”.

“Sources told ARY News that Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed gave a briefing to the participants on the law and order situation of the country.”

"The session was attended by COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa, DG ISI Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed, DG Military Intelligence, DG Military Operations, DG Intelligence Bureau, and others”, sources added.
