    Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.19%

    The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.19 per cent up at 13970.65.

    Investors should therefore use dips towards 15,200-15,400 to their advantage to accumulate quality largecaps and midcaps.
    NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a positive note on Tuesday.

    Shares of Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(up 4.52 per cent), Biocon(up 3.81 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma(up 2.65 per cent), Cadila Healthcare(up 1.98 per cent) and Laurus(up 1.97 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

    On the other hand, Torrent Pharmaceuticals(down 4.53 per cent), Gland Pharma(down 4.46 per cent), Ipca Laboratories(down 1.55 per cent), Natco Pharma(down 0.92 per cent) and Alembic Pharmaceuticals(down 0.6 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

    The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.19 per cent up at 13970.65.

    Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 143.0 points at 18268.4, while the BSE Sensex stood up 383.21 points at 61350.26.

    Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 38 ended in the green, while 12 closed in the red.

    Shares of Vodafone Idea, PNB, Bank of Baroda, Tata Power and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

    Shares of Jindal Stainles, HG Infra Engg, Aptech, TCI Express and Jindal Stainless hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Dev Information Tech, Dynamic Services & Security Ltd., D K Enterprises Global Ltd., SREI Infra Fin and Marine Electricals hit their fresh 52-week lows.
