Social media star faces backlash over ‘vile’ post about late father

A fitness model has been slammed online after she shared a series of photos posing in front of her father’s coffin, described by commenters as “sick”, “vile” and “disgusting”.

Jayne Rivera, from Miami, Florida, is a TikTok star who has gained popularity through her fashion, travel and swimwear posts.

Last week she took to Instagram revealing her father, a veteran, had passed away.

In a separate post shared on Monday, the influencer uploaded various photos of herself posing in front of her late father’s casket.

“Butterfly fly away. Rip Papi you were my best friend. A life well lived,” she said in her post.

The images have since left thousands of her followers outraged with many calling her out for being “disrespectful”.

“Not cool Jayne, ur dad was a decorated vet, a photo shot by his casket should be beneath you. May he rest in eternal peace,” one follower wrote.

“Funeral photo shoots? Yeesh,” said another.

“S**t is just vile, and down right disgusting,” a third person commented, while a fourth said: “The fact that u would post something like this tells us everything we need to know about you.”

In the photos, Rivera is wearing a fitting black suit dress featuring one long sleeve and stockings.

She looks directly into the camera, smiling in some of snaps, while glancing over her shoulder and looking away from the lens in others.

Jayne, who boasts 84,800 Instagram followers and 307,300 TikTok followers, has already lost a chunk of her fan base following her “funeral photo shoot”.

Many have unfollowed her while also encouraging others to do the same.

“Jayne, delete these pics, apologize for your lack of discretion or I will stop following you and I hope others will do the same,” one furious fan wrote.

“This is a hard unfollow. God rest that man’s soul,” said another, while a third simply commented: “Unfollowed.”

One social media user described it as “the most horrific Instagram post” they had ever seen, with many agreeing.

“I can’t get over this,” one person wrote.

According to Jayne’s website, she’s a pro athlete and also has an OnlyFans account.

Some of her most viewed TikToks are of her dancing, with one raking more than 11 million views.

The social media star is yet to respond to the backlash.
