The most bizarre and bigoted remarks from prominent Pakistanis after T20 win against India

Apart from the fierce cricketing rivalry on and off the field, healthy banter and jibes between fans and experts are part of any India-Pakistan encounter irrespective of its outcome.
However, after defeating India for the first time in a world cup match, euphoria seems to have gone a bit out of hand across the border.
Forget humility or just wisecracks, prominent Pakistani ministers, journalists and former cricketers are resorting to bigotry and ridiculousness to celebrate their team’s 10 wicket win over India.
It all started with Pakistan's Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed declaring his country’s triumph against India as “victory of Islam”.
In a video message on Twitter, Rasheed claimed that all Muslims throughout the world, including Indian Muslims, were supporting Pakistan during the match.

When ‘elected’ politicians, who are supposed to lead by example, make such bizarre claims, how can other Pakistani elites remain behind.
Pakistani fast bowling legend Waqar Younis said watching a Muslim (Mohammad Rizwan) read namaz in front of Hindus (Indian cricketers and fans) was more satisfying for him than his batting and winning the match.

Not to be left behind, top Pakistani journalist Mubasher Lucman made an outlandish allegation against Indian captain Virat Kohli. He said that Kohli deliberately asked Mohammed Shami to bowl the last over of Pakistani’s inning so that Indian media and fans can lay the blame of their loss on a Muslim cricketer.

Many prominent Indians were not amused by these remarks and reacted strongly.



There were also Pakistani cricketers who engaged in healthy banter instead of making hateful remarks.
Both Mohammed Amir and Shoaib Akhtar trolled Harbhajan Singh after the match on Twitter.
