Hyderabad: 18 persons held with ganja

HYDERABAD: As part of the ongoing crackdown against drug abuse, Hyderabad police arrested 18 persons possessing ganja on Sunday after registering 12 cases in various parts of the city.
In Habeebnagar, police arrested two persons and seized 900 gm of ganja from the possession of the accused. The two accused were arrested during a police patrol. Officials said that the prime accused, Dinesh Singh, a resident of Mangalhat, is absconding.
Meanwhile, Hyderabad police in coordination with Osmania University held an awareness programme for the benefit of students, who were informed about the dangers of drug abuse. Placards and fitness programmes were used to spread the message among the students.
