Imphal, October 24 2021: Expressing strong resentment over the report of a female NFSA agent of Khurai AC's polling station number 3/7 Phaknung Sangomsang threatening five beneficiaries of the locality to delete their names from the beneficiary list for organising election meeting for NPP, the party's intending candidate Laitonjam Jayananda has assured of provision of the same benefits from the open market from his own sources if the NFSA agent deletes their names.
Addressing a press meet on Sunday, NPP state youth president Jayananda said that his supporters organised a meeting to form election committee for polling station number 3/7 Phaknung Sangomsang.
Unfortunately, the local NFSA agent threatened five NFSA beneficiaries of deleting their names from the beneficiary list for playing major role in organising the meeting.
The NFSA agent also mentioned that she was conveying the message from the local MIA and there is audio recording of the telephonic conversation.
He then demanded the MIA to clarify if the NFSA agent was saying the truth or not.
He also demanded the CAF&PD director to take actions against the NFSA agent if she made the threat without knowledge of the MLA.
People in a democratic country can choose the candidate they want but the NFSA agent is threatening to delete names of NFSA beneficiaries for supporting candidates other than the MIA.
This is blatant violation of democracy and right to food.
He will take the fight to the law court if needed and in the meantime, he will provide the same benefit to the five beneficiaries if the NFSA agent and the MLA delete their names, he said.
