Four including Pradhan arrested for alleged irregularities in NREGA implementation

Imphal, October 24 2021: Vigilance and Anti Corruption Cell Police Station Manipur arrested four persons including the Pradhan of Konthoujam Gram Panchayat yesterday in connection with alleged irregularities in the implementation of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) scheme.

They were all arrested from their residence yesterday after an enquiry based on a complaint was conducted and were remanded to four-day police custody after being produced before the Court of Duty Magistrate Imphal West late evening yesterday.

The complainant is from Konthoujam Makha leikai.

After the enquiry, a case was registered at Vigilance and Anti Corruption Cell Police Station under FIR number 1 (2) 2021 �V&AC PS and four of them were arrested on the charges of criminal conspiracy, said sources.

The other charges levelled against the arrested persons include-making duplicate cards, withdrawal of money using forged signature from accounts of deceased persons etc.
