Sri Lanka defeated Bangladesh in their opening match of the T20 World Cup to start off the tournament on a high. Charith Asalanka (80*) and Bhanuka Rajapaksa (53) played stellar half-centuries. On the other hand, Naim and Mushfiqur Rahim’s fifties went in vain for Bangladesh.

T20 World Cup Points Table- A couple of points for Sri Lanka will add confidence to Dasun Shanaka and Co who had to fight in the T20 World Qualifiers for the first time to enter Super 12. Now, they are joining two top teams England and Australia with a couple of points each. On the other hand, Bangladesh have created trouble for itself after failing to defeat Sri Lanka. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli & Co have begun Group 2 battle against arch-rivals Pakistan. The winner will go to the top of the points table.
