Garrison's annual base salary is $140,000, according to his initial contract, which was set to expire in June 2022. Covington Independent Public Schools enrolls about 4,000 students in Kenton County.
The approved addendum to Garrison's contract extends the agreement to June 2026, officials said.
“I am extremely honored that the board continues to have confidence in my leadership and the direction of our school district,’’ Garrison said in the news release. “Prior to the pandemic, we had great momentum, positive energy, and the majority of our schools were demonstrating increases in student growth. I am so thankful that we get to continue this amazing journey of improving student outcomes together.’’
The details of Garrison's new contract, including his salary, will be worked on in the coming months, officials said.
