The Henderson Police Department arrested Public Enemy rapper Flavor Flav earlier this month, booking him on a misdemeanor charge of domestic battery after he allegedly poked an unidentified female victim in the face and threw her down.

The City Attorney said Flavor Flav is officially charged with misdemeanor battery constituting domestic violence. According to TMZ, Flavor Flav "allegedly poked his finger on the alleged victim's nose, grabbed her, threw her down, and grabbed a phone out her hand."

Billboard reported that the alleged victim was someone the rapper was dating and that they share a child. Their son split up the fight before his mother lunged at Flav, per a police report obtained by the magazine.

"[He] did willfully and unlawfully use force or violence against [the person]," the statement read. "[He] did willfully and unlawfully use force or violence against [the person]."

"In alleged domestic violence cases, there are often two sides to the story, and we will explain our side in the courtroom and not in the media," Flavor Flav's attorneys David Chesnoff and Richard Schonfeld told Page Six in a statement.
