Ed Sheeran has revealed that he has tested positive for Covid-19.

The Bad Habits singer shared the announcement on Sunday, saying that he is currently self-isolating.

"Hey guys. Quick note to tell you that I've sadly tested positive for Covid, so I'm now self-isolating and following government guidelines," he wrote.

Ed, who was announced as the musical guest for the 6 November episode of Saturday Night Live, also said that he will not go ahead with any "in person commitments" but would do "as many of my planned interviews/performances I can from my house."

"Apologies to anyone I've let down. Be safe everyone x," he ended the note.

According to Page Six, SNL producers are now scrambling to find a suitable replacement for Ed.

The news also comes just days before the release of the singer's highly-anticipated fourth studio album, = (Equals), out on Friday 29 October.
