A mum has transformed the old, filthy grout around her tiles in her bathroom using a $2.30 product.

The Australian woman cleaned the discoloured grout in her ensuite using Strike Bleach Toilet Gel from Woolworths, designed for killing 99.99 per cent of germs and removing tough stains from toilets. 

She was impressed with how the product worked for tackling the dirty grout without having to spend hours scrubbing the floor.

'I ran bottle along the grout, left for a couple of hours, brushed with a grout brush, soaked up the excess with old towels then steam mopped twice,' she wrote in a Facebook group.

'Recommend opening windows as is a bleaching agent has some smell.'

The mum shared the transformation on social media, saying: 'Tile porn brought to you by Strike Bleach Toilet Gel.

'I keep popping back to the ensuite in shock - I can't believe how dirty our new house's grout was when we moved in,' she said.

'Once I started, I couldn't stop it's become a cleaning obsession... It was definitely a super easy process with no scrubbing.' 

After sharing her results, hundreds were amazed with the 'before' and 'after' grout transformation while others said they were keen to give the product a go.

'Wowser! I should try this,' one said, while another joked: 'This needs a warning for sexually explicit content cause god damn this is sexy! I need to clean my floors.'

Others said they have been using the same bathroom gel to clean their grout at home, with many insisting it's the 'best grout cleaner'.

'I use that too! It’s so cheap and very effective on lifting dirt from the grout. Our bathroom looks brand new every time,' one wrote.

Another said: I have also recently used bleach toilet cleaner to clean my grout... has come up amazing.'

While one woman warned: 'This is how I've always cleaned my grout, just make sure you don't use a coloured bleach. 

'I used blue toilet duck last time I did the grout in my bathroom (wasn't thinking) and the grout now has a green tint so now I have to do it again.'

Meanwhile others said they use other products to clean their grout.

'Lemon juice is awesome for this too. I leave it on for about a minute and then give it a little scrub and it comes up great,' one wrote.

Another said: 'I found cleaning vinegar works really well and the smell isn’t as harsh as bleach,' while one added: 'I used the magic erasers and it was brilliant too no chemicals.'
