Hyderabad,Oct 25 (UNI) Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was re-elected 'unopposed' as the President of the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) here on Monday.
The unanimous election of Mr Rao, as the TRS Chief, heralded the begining of the party plenary at Hitex Covention Centre.
This is for the tenth time since the TRS came into being that Mr.Rao has been re-elected as the party President.
He was declared re-elected as party president 'unopposed' since noone else had filed nominations for the post.
It may be mentioned that 18 sets of nominations had been filed on behalf of Mr Rao by Ministers, MPs and legislators.
Over 6,000 delegates have been invited from across the state to the plenary which is expected to discuss various state and national issues besides steps to revitalise the party before the next Assembly election in 2023.
Most parts of the city besides the venue have been painted pink, the party's colour, with pink flags, flexies and hoardings.
Delegates too attended the plenary draped in pink dresses.
The plenary is being held in a grand manner after a gap of two years due to COVID-19.
