Awarenes prog on Thang-Ta organised

Imphal, October 24 2021: As part of the month-long observance being organised by Thang-Ta Day Observation Committee under Kanglei Indigenous Martial Arts & Cultural Society (KIMACS) ahead of the Thang-Ta Day which falls on November 15; Awang Khunou Youth Development Committee and Energetic Pioneer Association jointly organised an awareness programme on "Thang-Ta For Social Change" on the ninth day of the observance at Awang Khunou on Sunday.
According to a statement released by Committee media coordinator L Saityamjit Meetei, the programme was attended by Brighter Academy, Imphal retired senior lecturer Khumukcham Basantakumar Meitei, KIMACS vice chairman and Committee advisor Leitanthem Dhamendro, and KIMACS convenor and Committee president N Ajitkumar as presidium members.
Speaking at the event, Leitanthem Dhamendro recounted that the discipline of Thang-Ta and the unity between the hills and the valley had played a key part in protecting the territorial integrity of Manipur.
He then urged for promoting Thang-ta without any discrimination for a healthy society and for maintaining a united front for the future of the state.
