KALYAN: In order to make the twin
Kalyan-Dombivli city cleaner and more beautiful, the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (
KDMC) chief
Dr Vijay Suryawanshi on Monday started special city transformation campaign.
Under this campaign, Dr Suryawanshi with KDMC staffs, NGOs representatives and citizens on Monday held special clean-up programme in
Kalyan at Khadakpada circle.
The clean-up work was carried out on both sides of the road from Khadakpada Circle to Sandeep Hotel. This included clearing soil and debris on the road due to rains and clearing road dividers.
The KDMC for same have started 'Special Sanitation Week' which started on Monday and it will end on October 31.
Dr Suryawanshi said, "The participation of more NGOs and citizens in the 'transformation campaign' of the KDMC will help in making the city cleaner and more beautiful".
The similar programme was also carried out in six other wards in the city by respective wards ward officers.
Suryawanshi said normally garbage is dumped on road by hawkers and shopkeepers on the streets, which disfigures the city.
Therefore, along with corporation it is also the responsibility of citizens to keep city clean and beautiful.
During this special campaign, deputy commissioner of Sanitation Department
Ramdas Kokare was also present.
