DEO warns against dereliction of duty

Imphal, October 23 2021: District Election Officer (DEO) and Deputy Commissioner of Imphal West Th Kirankumar on Saturday convened a meeting at the Court Room of DC/DEO with all the nodal officers of the district in connection with the upcoming 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly Election, which is likely to be held in February-March 2022 .
According to a statement issued by DEO IW Media Cell, during the meeting, the DEO explained that the meeting has been convened to ensure preparedness for smooth conduct of the upcoming assembly elections.
Calling for full cooperation from each and every official and staff in the district for smooth conduct of the election, Th Kirankumar hinted that strict actions could be initiated against officials and staff for any form of negligence and dereliction of duty with false excuses.
The release mentioned that the DEO had a threadbare discussion with the officers on various issues and activities pertaining to the election like law & order, training of polling staff, transport plan, SVEEP, expenditure monitoring, communication plan, EVM and postal ballot, material arrangement, Model Code of Conduct, MCMC, media, etc.
The DEO further directed the nodal officers to gear up t heir teams and machineries for the smooth conduct of assembly election in the district, it conveyed.
