AMRITSAR: Asked about a spurt in development works and inaugurations in husband Navjot Singh Sidhu’s Amritsar East assembly constituency, Navjot Kaur Sidhu on Saturday said her husband had given Rs 100 crore to every assembly constituency in Amritsar when he took charge as local body minister. “That money was still lying, but the tendering was in progress. Development work had not stalled in the constituency even for a single day,” she claimed.
Reacting to the all party meeting convened by chief minister Charanjit Singh Channi to discuss Border Security Force (BSF) jurisdiction extension, Kaur said she had held a long discussion with legal experts and was convinced that BSF’s jurisdiction couldn’t be extended unless there were civil war like conditions. “There is a Supreme Court ruling in this regard and accordingly BSF has to go back to its earlier jurisdiction” she said.
