TPR rises above 5 pc, 122 new cases reported

Imphal, October 23 2021: After nine days of reporting below 5 per cent daily test positivity rate (TPR), the state on Saturday registered 5.88 per cent TPR against 3.37 per cent recorded on Friday, following detection of 122 new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 2075 samples tested.
Meanwhile, no new fatality was reported on Saturday and the tally remains at 1907.Out of the 16 districts, nine reported Covid cases on Saturday with Imphal West and Imphal East reporting highest count at 54 and 43 respectively.
In terms of positivity rate, Kamjong recorded highest single day positivity rate at 21.4 per cent while Thoubal district recorded lowest positivity rate at 0.8 per cent.
Churachandpur, Jiribam, Noney, Pherzawl, Senapati, Tamenglong and Tengnoupal districts did not report any new positive cases on Saturday.
Against Friday's figure of 901, the active caseload rose to 961 on Saturday out of which 110 (11.45 per cent) are in home isolation.
There is no updated information regarding bed availability.
So far, the state has recorded 93,829 positive cases and 1533 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic.
The current month has recorded 2645 new cases and 52 fatalities out of which 596 new cases and 12 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone.
According to official reports, all the 122 new positive cases (63 male & 59 female) are from among the general population and their samples were detected at RIMS (12), JNIMS (17) and other testing centres (93).The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (43), Imphal West (54), Thoubal (1), Bishnupur (2), Kakching "(5), Ukhrul (6), Chandel (4), Kamjong (6) and Kangpokpi (1).All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
In the last 24 hours, 67 patients were discharged from home isolation (15), JNIMS (14) and CCCs (38) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,23,229 (general population -1,18,906 and CAPF personnel - 4,323) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,20,361 (general population - 1,16,062 and CAPF personnel - 4,299) and number of active cases is 961 (general population - 942 and CAPF personnel - 19) .
The recovery rate is 97.67 per cent.
A total of 763 D-type and 150 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities on Friday.
As many as 11,979 vaccine doses were administered on Friday and it took the cumulative number of persons inoculated to 12,40,395 including 6,35,789 fully vaccinated.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (42,861), Imphal East (27,262), Thoubal (94271, Churachandpur (10,118), Kangpokpi (2775), Tamenglong (3272), Bishnupur (9138), Senapati (2223), Ukhrul (2919), Kakching (6389), Chandel (2319), Noney (1067), Tengnoupal (1054), Jiribam (r02l), Kamjong (920) and Pherzawl (464).Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (634), Imphal East (453), Thoubal (173), Churachandpur (160), Kangpokpi (60), Tamenglong (13), Bishnupur (189), Senapati (10), Ukhrul (39], Kakching (111), Chandel (36), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 39,713 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 24,441 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,36,069 tests per million population against the national average of 4,28,149 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.55 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 2075 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 5.88 per cent per cent while the cumulative positivity stands at 9.11 per cent.
