Imphal, October 22 2021: Joint Students' Federation (JSF) has urged the state government to file the charge sheet in the case of murder of Haokip Students' Organisation (HSO) president in front of his residence at National Game Village on October 22, 2017 in a competent court and fulfil all other assurances given by it to the family of the deceased immediately.
In a release, JSF legal & outsourcing in-charge Joel Kuki stated that the case investigation details of the murder are presently in the custody of ASP (Law & Order), Imphal West.
However, it has been learnt that no chargesheet has been filed in the court with regard to the case till date.
During a meeting of Kuki Inpi Manipur, KSO, HPC and the family of the deceased with chief minister N Biren, a mutual agreement was arrived at that compensation would be paid to the family of the victim along with one suitable government job and all the culprits involved would be arrested, it recalled.
JSF alleged that the government, contrary to the agreement, has kept the matter unresolved for the past four years and is keeping the culprits under their shadow and nothing has been fulfilled as assured by the government.
Henceforth, the government is once again reminded to arrest the culprits, file a chargesheet against the culprit (s) and fulfil all other assurances as agreed with the victim's family immediately.
Else, they will be compelled to resort to various forms of agitations until justice is served to late Letkholal Haokip and his family, it further cautioned.
