Ranchi: Chief minister Hemant Soren chaired a meeting of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)’s district presidents and district secretaries at his residence on Kanke Road on Friday evening to take stock of the party’s organisation. Besides district presidents and office bearers, Ghatshila MLA Ramdas Soren and general secretary Vinod Kumar Pandey attended the meeting. “Soren, who is the working president of our party, enquired about the grievances of the office bearers. Several of them complained that administrative officials are turning hostile and not taking the government’s welfare schemes to the grassroots level,” a JMM functionary who attended the meeting said on anonymity. Soren also inquired about the loopholes in the party’s organisational structure and directed the office bearers to improve people connect. He also told the party workers to create awareness among the village people about the benefits of Covid-19 vaccine. Soren’s meeting is being seen as a precursor to the JMM’s central working committee meeting, which is due to be held before Diwali. The CWC had met last in March, 2020 to deliberate on the results of the 2019 state assembly polls.
