Actor Armaan Kohli, who has been in jail for more than 45 days now, was denied bail by the court on October 14. While rejecting actor's bail plea tha court said that the chats and videos recovered from his phone suggest that Armaan was involved in drug trafficking. Kohli was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau after the anti-drug agency raided his apartment and seized 1.2 grams of MD. The anti drugs agency claims to have recovered bigger quantities of contraband drugs from the co-accused in the case. The actor's lawyers argued in the court that, since a very small quantity of drugs were recovered from Armaan's possession, the actor was entitled to bail. However, the NCB opposed his bail by stating that the actor is directly linked to the two prime accused in the case. Special prosecutor also submitted bank statements of Kohli and other accused before the court. After going throught the evidence, the judge noted that bank transactions validated the alleged transactions. Sameer Wankhede, the Zonal Director of the NCB recently revealed that 'apart from consumption', some serious charges have been levelled against the actor. During an interaction with media, on the question of South American connection in the case where Armaan has been arrested, Sameer Wankhede said that 'apart from just consumption there are several other charges levelled against him.' Not only this, in a conversation with Bombay Times, Sameer Wankhede has mentioned that the NCB has launched an operation called Operation Rolling Thunder under which they have cracked down on multiple drug peddlers and users in India. Armaan Kohli was placed under arrest on August 28 after being questioned by the anti-drugs agency, after conducting a raid at his house in Juhu.
