Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh to bid for new IPL teams?

Bollywood power couple Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh could bid for a new franchise in the upcoming season of Indian Premier League 2022. The IPL governing body has invited bids to acquire the right of two new teams for the upcoming season. Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh could enter the bidding war. According to various media reports, the bidding war for the two new IPL teams is really gaining momentum as the superstar couple could end up winning a team with English Premier League club Manchester United. Sources added that it was initially a two-horse race, with the contenders being TRP-Sanjeev Goenka Group and Adani Group, but now it is going to widen with different companies bidding for the two new teams that will be sold by the BCCI. IPL and Bollywood have had a long-standing relationship. Shah Rukh Khan and Juhi Chawla own the popular Kolkata Knight Riders team while Raj and Shilpa Shetty Kundra had initially invested in the Rajasthan Royals and Preity Zinta is a co-owner of Punjab Kings. On the work front, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone will soon be seen sharing screen space in filmmaker Kabir Khan's sports biography '83', based on India's win at the World Cup in 1983 under the captaincy of Kapil Dev. He also has Rohit Shetty's comedy film 'Cirkus' and action drama 'Sooryavanshi'.
