It looks like Margot Robbie's Barbie movie has found its Ken.
According to Deadline, Ryan Gosling is in final talks to play the famous doll and fictional character in the upcoming Warner Bros film.
The publication further reports that the 40-year-old initially passed on the role; as pre-production delayed, the studio was persistent that he was his choice, an opening in his schedule appeared, which allowed him to sign on.
Margot will play the titular role of the iconic Mattel doll and produce. Greta Gerwig, who is directing, co-wrote the script with Noah Baumbach.
While plot details remain under wraps, the Suicide Squad actor told The Hollywood Reporter last year that it will surprise people.
"Our goal is to be like, 'Whatever you're thinking, we're going to give you something totally different — the thing you didn't know you wanted. Now, can we truly honour the IP and the fan base and also surprise people? Because if we can do all that and provoke a thoughtful conversation, then we're really firing on all cylinders," she said.
