Hyderabad: City police on Thursday reported a case against an IAS official here for allegedly cheating and raping a woman.
The woman claimed in a complaint lodged with the police that the apprentice officer, the son of a former member of parliament from Telangana and currently undergoing training at Madurai District Collectorate in Tamil Nadu, had raped her on various occasions since 2019 by extortion her and threatens to suspend the marriage if she does not comply with his sexual desires.
Following the complaint, a case was filed on September 27 under the relevant sections of the IPC against the apprentice officer and also against his father for combating the crime, police said.
‘The IAS apprentice officer and the woman were in a relationship earlier. He told her that he would marry her, but later stopped responding to her because it seemed like he wanted to marry someone else. “Now the woman has complained that he raped her on the pretext of the marriage and on the basis of the complaint a case has been registered,” said a senior police officer.
