Rolls-Royce Ghost Black Badge Teased, Debuts On October 28th

The Rolls-Royce Black Badge lineup is expanding as the company has announced plans to introduce a “new product” on October 28th at 13:00 BST (8:00 AM ET).

The company is keeping details under wraps, but they released a handful of teaser images that show a Spirit of Ecstasy hood ornament and stylish two-tone wheels with carbon fiber accents.

Moving into the cabin, we can see illuminated piano black trim with a starlight design as well as an infinity logo. The model also sports eye-catching blue leather and what appears to be carbon fiber trim.

Besides the traditional teasers, the company has teamed up with artist and illustrator Mason London to create an animated teaser. It suggests the upcoming model will have blue pinstripes as well as matching blue calipers.

While Rolls-Royce is playing coy, the mysterious model appears to be a Ghost Black Badge. This makes plenty of sense as there are already Black Badge versions of the Cullinan, Dawn and Wraith and the company has previously offered a Ghost Black Badge.

Little is known about the car at the moment, but the standard Ghost has a twin-turbo 6.75-liter V12 engine that produces 563 hp (420 kW / 571 PS) and 627 lb-ft (850 Nm) of torque. It enables the model to accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 4.6 seconds, before hitting a limited top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).

However, we can expect the Ghost Black Badge to offer better performance as the Cullinan Black Badge has an upgraded twin-turbo 6.75-liter V12 with 592 hp (441 kW / 600 PS) and 664 lb-ft (900 Nm) of torque. That’s an increase of 29 hp (21 kW / 29 PS) and 37 lb-ft (50 Nm).

The upgraded powertrain should be accompanied by a handful of other changes including a sportier suspension and a beefier braking system. These upgrades will likely be joined by a retuned gearbox and a sportier exhaust. Of course, we’ll find out for sure next week
