The NSE Nifty index ended the session 63.2 points down at 18114.9, while BSE Sensex fell 101.88 points to 60821.62.
In the Nifty index, Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd.(up 2.10 per cent), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 1.64 per cent), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(up 1.32 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 1.29 per cent) and Axis Bank Ltd.(up 1.10 per cent) stood among the top gainers.
On the other hand, Hindalco Industries Ltd.(down 4.72 per cent), Coal India Ltd.(down 3.56 per cent), Tata Motors Ltd.(down 3.37 per cent), ITC Ltd.(down 3.31 per cent) and Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(down 2.40 per cent) were among the top losers of the day.
