Stock market update: Sugar stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading higher on Friday at 10:55AM

Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals(up 2.45%), Dharani Sugars & Chemicals(up 1.34%), Ponni Sugars(Erode)(up 0.99%), Simbhaoli Sugars(up 0.97%), KCP Sugar & Industries(up 0.93%), Bannari Amman Sugars(up 0.81%), Ugar Sugar Works(up 0.72%), Mawana Sugars(up 0.62%), Balrampur Chini Mills(up 0.55%) and EID Parry(up 0.48%) were among the top gainers.

Vishwaraj Sugar Industries(down 3.21%), Dalmia Bharat Sugar & Industries(down 2.26%), Kothari Sugars & Chemicals(down 1.96%), Triveni Engineering & Industries(down 1.87%), Shree Renuka Sugars(down 1.70%), Dhampur Sugar Mills(down 0.99%), K.M.Sugar Mills(down 0.57%), BAJAJHIND(down 0.36%) and AVADHSUGAR(down 0.05%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 57.2 points up at 18235.3, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 277.34 points at 61200.84 at around 10:55AM.

Bajaj Finserv(up 3.34%), HDFC(up 2.59%), Bajaj Finance(up 1.76%), Bajaj Auto(up 1.63%), HDFC Bank(up 1.41%), UltraTech Cement(up 0.98%), Larsen & Toubro(up 0.96%), ICICI Bank(up 0.93%), Axis Bank(up 0.85%) and Titan Company Ltd(up 0.79%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Tata Motors(down 2.22%), Hindalco Industries(down 2.15%), Coal India(down 2.0%), Asian Paints(down 1.99%), JSW Steel(down 1.85%), Infosys(down 1.37%), Tata Steel(down 1.3%), NTPC(down 1.28%), Eicher Motors(down 1.22%) and HCL Technologies(down 1.22%) were trading in the red.
