Mallikarjun Kharge demands probe on Satya Pal Malik's allegations of bribe being offered

New Delhi, Oct 22 (UNI) After Meghalaya Governor Satya Pal Malik alleged he was offered bribe to clear two files belonging to “Ambani” and an “RSS-affiliated man" while he was in J&K, the Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge on Friday questioned if an enquiry would be done in the matter.
"Shocking revelations by Governor of Meghalaya Satya Pal Malik. Will there be an enquiry on these allegations or this too will be buried as RSS leaders and 'Suit-Boot' friends of PM Narendra Modi are involved?" Kharge said in a tweet.
"Yet another example of 'na khane dunga' really being a bland 'jumla," he said slamming the Prime Minister.
Malik, who was the Governor of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir when article 370 was abrogated in 2019, has claimed that he was told he would get Rs 300-crore for clearing two files when he was holding the post. He said the files belonged to “Ambani”, and an “RSS-affiliated man” and a minister of PDP was also involved.
He had also claimed that he cancelled the deals and told Prime Minister Narendra Modi who supported his decision.

New Delhi, Oct 22 (UNI) Defence Ministry signed a contract worth Rs. 423 crores with the US Government under Foreign Military Sale for procurement of MK 54 Torpedo and Expendable (Chaff and Flares) for the Indian Navy.
The contract was signed on October 21. These weapons are the outfit of P-8I Aircraft which is used for Long range Maritime Surveillance, Anti-Submarine Warfare and Anti-Surface Warfare (ASV), the Ministry said.
