CM stresses on strict adherence to Could SOPs

Imphal, October 21 2021: Chief minister N Biren on Thursday flagged off Covid Vaccination Express of Imphal East district from his secretariat office premises.
The Covid Vaccination Express of Imphal East comprising 15 vehicles equipped with necessary equipment, vaccines and medical personnel will travel to every nook and corner of the district to vaccinate people at their doorsteps.
Speaking on the occasion, CM Biren informed that Covid Vaccination Express for other remaining districts will also be flagged off soon and 90 more such vehicles have been ordered for the said purpose.
Noting that Manipur Legislative Assembly election is round the corner, the chief minister urged political parties and people of the state to maintain SOPs during electioneering as the pandemic is yet to be overcome completely.
N Biren said that permission needs to be taken from authorities for organising any election activity involving congregation of people.
He also urged the public to avoid attending public rallies and meetings if not vaccinated.
Regarding surge of positive cases among children in some pockets of Churachandpur, he informed that an expert team has been sent to look into the matter.
After getting reports from them, the matter of reopening of schools and colleges would be deliberated, he added.
N Biren congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on achieving 100-crore doses of vaccination against Covid-19.Stating that vaccination is the only means to tackle the pandemic, he appealed to the people to co-operate with the government's efforts of reducing the number of positive cases to zero.
Imphal East district deputy commissioner Diana Khumanthem stated that out of targeted population of 3.08 lakh in Imphal East district, 80.6 per cent have received their first dose of Covid-19 vaccine and 37.5 per cent administered the second dose.
She expressed confidence that the Covid Vaccination Express programme taken up by Health Department and Care India Initiative under the aegis of chief minister which consist of 15 vehicles equipped with audio system and 20 fully trained vaccination team will be of great help in achieving 100 per cent vaccination in Imphal East district.
CAF & PD minister Th Satyabrata, MDPDCL chairman L Susindro, Manipur Labour and Other Construction Workers' Welfare Board chairman H Dingo, advisor to CM (Health) Dr Sapam Ranjan, Kshetrigao MLA N Indrajit, Wangkhei MLA Y Erabot, additional chief secretary (Health and Family Welfare) V Vumlunmang and health director Dr K Rajo also attended the function, among others.
