The Nation's Weather for Saturday, October 23, 2021
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
As cooler air continues to push into the Northeast, spotty
showers are expected to dampen western and central portions
of New York and Pennsylvania. Much of New England is likely
to stay dry, but it will be a mostly cloudy day. In contrast
to the chilly Northeast, warmth will fuel showers and a few
embedded thunderstorms in Missouri, Arkansas, Louisiana,
eastern Texas and possibly as far east as western
Mississippi. Elsewhere in the Southeast, a morning shower or
two and spotty afternoon thunderstorms will affect South
Florida. The West will get a slight break between storms,
but some rain is still likely in much of Washington, Oregon
and Northern California. A very powerful storm will crash
ashore on Sunday, with heavy rain leading to flash flooding
and mudslides, mainly in wildfire burn scar locations.
