    Stock market update: Sugar stocks down as market falls

    The 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 101.88 points at 60821.62

    On an immediate basis, 15,770/52,500 and 15,850/52,700 levels would be major hurdles.
    NEW DELHI: Sugar shares closed lower in the Friday's session.

    Ponni Sugars(Erode)(up 3.04%), Dharani Sugars & Chemicals(up 1.07%) and Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals(up 0.20%) stood among the top gainers.

    Triveni Engineering & Industries(down 6.03%), Balrampur Chini Mills(down 4.92%), Simbhaoli Sugars(down 4.85%), Shree Renuka Sugars(down 3.58%), Dalmia Bharat Sugar & Industries(down 3.32%), Dhampur Sugar Mills(down 2.78%), Dwarikesh Sugar Industries(down 2.71%), Bannari Amman Sugars(down 2.57%), Kothari Sugars & Chemicals(down 2.56%) and K.M.Sugar Mills(down 2.46%) were among the top losers of the day.

    The NSE Nifty50 index ended 63.2 points down at 18114.9, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 101.88 points at 60821.62.

    HDFC(up 2.1%), Bajaj Auto(up 1.64%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 1.32%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 1.29%), Axis Bank(up 1.1%), IndusInd Bank(up 1.01%), SBI Life(up 0.77%), Titan Company Ltd(up 0.68%), ICICI Bank(up 0.5%) and Shree Cement(up 0.43%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

    On the other hand, Hindalco Industries(down 4.72%), Coal India(down 3.56%), Tata Motors(down 3.37%), ITC(down 3.31%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 2.4%), Divis Laboratories(down 2.32%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 2.25%), Maruti Suzuki(down 2.2%), NTPC(down 2.03%) and Wipro(down 2.0%) closed in the red.
