Update: October 22, 2021
A new report has arrived that talks about what type of display the alleged iPhone SE 3 is going to feature. Reportedly, as per Chinese media representatives, the purported iPhone SE 3 will use an LCD display. Also, its form factor is going to be similar to the iPhone XR, which means it is not going to be as compact as its predecessor (iPhone SE 2020).
A notch display would mean no Touch ID, but a past rumor had suggested there is a Touch ID. So, this concludes the Touch ID might move to the side, borrowing a feature from the iPad.
The iPhone SE 3 is expected to carry a 5nm-based A15 Bionic chipset.

It has been over a year since Apple debuted iPhone SE (2nd generation) aka iPhone SE 2020. It was appreciated by many and people have been looking forward to its successor. There have been rumors surrounding the alleged iPhone SE 3 and now, we have a fresh report from a Japanese publication Macotakara.
It claims that the iPhone SE 3 will be identical to the current-gen iPhone SE. This is in the context of the product design as Apple is not expected to change the way it looks. It essentially means that we will get to see the same 4.7-inch display and Touch ID should also be there. This results in no Face ID for the most affordable iPhone model.
The biggest difference will be that iPhone SE 3 will support 5G connectivity. As of now, all modern iPhone models are 5G capable devices. This includes the smallest member of the family i.e. iPhone 13 mini. The production of this new iPhone SE model is expected to sometime in December 2021. The launch is then speculated to happen during Spring of 2022.
This new report is in contrast with some of the rumors suggesting significant design changes. Some expected a bigger display and even claimed it to be called iPhone SE Plus. It seems like none of that is turning out to be true as Apple is sticking with the same iPhone SE 2nd gen approach.
