The Premier League season is well underway and that means that clubs are starting to get an idea of how they stack up against their rivals.
Sacking managers has become a key part of life in the professional game as clubs lean towards a ‘grass is greener’ approach to on-field matters.
Of course some clubs benefit from making early managerial changes, however there’s always a club who suffer the consequences of a quick-fix-gone-wrong.
Steve Bruce left by mutual consent on Wednesday morning and instantly attention turned to his next replacement.
But it also meant that his departure has seen the odds of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer plummet to 2/1, on Sky Bet.
A similar dramatic change took place after Claudio Ranieri managed his first game for Watford last weekend.
Due to a thrashing at the hands of Liverpool his odds were axed from 33/1 to 10/1 to be the next to leave, but with the recent sacking, he is even more favoured at 4/1.
As expected, some other Premier League bosses are now looking nervously over their shoulder following the Hornet’s change in management.
Next permanent Premier League manager to leave
Odds on Skybet at time of writing
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer – 2/1
Claudio Ranieri – 4/1
Daniel Farke – 13/2
Nuno Espirito Santo – 11/1
Ralph Hasenhuttl – 12/1
Mikel Arteta – 14/1
Brendan Rodgers – 16/1
Bruno Lage – 16/1
Marcelo Bielsa – 20/1
Patrick Vieira – 20/1
Dean Smith – 25/1
Graham Potter – 25/1
Rafael Benitez – 25/1
Sean Dyche – 25/1
David Moyes – 40/1
Pep Guardiola – 40/1
Thomas Frank – 40/1
No Manager To Leave – 50/1
Jurgen Klopp – 66/1
Thomas Tuchel – 66/1
Daniel Farke is another frontrunner to be sacked next, as his Norwich City side haven’t won a game in eight tries.
With six losses and two draws it’s not overly surprising for a newly promoted side to be struggling but it speaks volumes that United, who sit sixth, are tipped to fire their manager first.
Another manager who could face the music next is Nuno Espirito Santo, who despite winning the last three games is still under pressure after a poor spell.
The Tottenham boss is among the front runners after successive defeats were capped off by a humiliation against their rivals in September and shows no manager is safe in these times.
At the other end of the list are Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, Chelsea’s Thomas Tuchel and Manchester City gaffer Pep Guardiola who are near-certainties to keep hold of their prestigious roles.
