Imphal, October 21 2021: All Manipur Working Journalists' Union (AMWJU) would be holding its election to elect new president and members of the standing committee for the term 2021-23 .

According to a resolution adopted during a general body meeting of AMWJU, senior advocate Th Ibohal will be the returning officer and N Satyajit will be the presiding officer, while senior journalists Sobhapati Samom and Oinam Ibochouba will be the polling officers.

The election, which will be conducted from 8am till 2pm, is being contested by the two presidential candidates and 11 others for the members of Standing Committee.

Speaking in this regard at Manipur Press Club here on Thursday, RO Th Ibohal urged AMWJU members to come early on the voting day and cast their votes on time.

The votes will be counted on the day itself and the result announced shortly after.

He then appealed for holding the election in a fair manner.
