    Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 1.07%

    Synopsis

    The Nifty Auto index closed 1.07 per cent down at 11433.95.

    Analysts see 15,900 to continue to pose as the immediate resistance.
    NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index closed on a negative note on Friday.

    Shares of TVS Motor Company(up 7.41 per cent), Bajaj Auto(up 1.64 per cent), Bharat Forge(up 0.68 per cent), Amara Raja Batteries(up 0.54 per cent) and TIINDIA(up 0.34 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

    On the other hand, Tata Motors(down 3.37 per cent), Maruti Suzuki(down 2.2 per cent), Eicher Motors(down 1.91 per cent), Exide Industries(down 1.84 per cent) and Ashok Leyland(down 1.31 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

    The Nifty Auto index closed 1.07 per cent down at 11433.95.

    Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 63.2 points at 18114.9, while the BSE Sensex stood down 101.88 points at 60821.62.

    Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 16 ended in the green, while 33 closed in the red.

    Shares of YES Bank, Rail Vikas Nigam, Federal Bank, Indian Railway Finance Corporation Ltd. and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

    Shares of D K Enterprises Global Ltd., 3i Infotech, IRB Infra Dev., Rail Vikas Nigam and Paras Defence and Space Technologies Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Stylam Ind, Biocon, Destiny Logistics & Infra Ltd., SREI Infra Fin and Sansera Engineering Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week lows.
