Bengaluru, Oct 22 (UNI) Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday visited the Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE) facility and flew LCA Tejas Simulator here on Friday.

"Had an amazing experience of flying in LCA Tejas Simulator at the Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE) facility in Bengaluru," he tweeted.

Singh is in the city to attend the inaugural ceremony of the three-day conclave organized by the Indian Air Force in commemoration of the golden jubilee of the 1971 India-Pakistan war.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to deliver the keynote address in the virtual mode at the conclave which is being held at Air Force Station Yelahanka.

Senior Defence Ministry officials, including Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat will be attending the conclave.

General Rawat will speak on "higher directions of war: deriving aim and objectives".

Singh tweeted he visited defence public sector undertakings here and reviewed their progress.

On October 15, seven new defence companies, carved out of OFB, were dedicated to the nation on Vijayadashami.

Singh had said the new companies will be engines of growth for the economy and play an important role in the defence manufacturing ecosystem.

The new structure, Singh then said, will transform Ordnance Factories into productive and profitable assets and ensure self-reliance in defence preparedness.
