Noida: Waiting for an opportunity to play golf? Well, the
Noida Authority has opened the registration process for the first 1,000 members of
Noida International Golf Course being developed in
Sector 151A.
General members will have to pay Rs 10 lakh, while government servants will be made members on payment of Rs 3 lakh. The golf course is expected to be ready by August next year. The Authority will give
membership to close to 3,500 regular members, of which the registration for the first 1,000 slots has begun. Noida already has an 18-hole golf course in Sector 38, spread over 97 acres.
The international golf course is being developed with a budget of Rs 90 crore between the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway and the Yamuna river at a location which has several highrise apartment complexes.
To start work, the Authority floated tenders in July last year and work is going on at the site. The club will be self-sustainable and will work on alternative sources of energy. A society will be formed to run the club.
Meanwhile, TOI has learnt that the Noida Authority is going to forward the heliport project report that has been planned alongside the international golf course in Sector 151A to the state government soon.
The heliport being planned in Kambakshpur village off the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, will be developed on a public-private-partnership model.
The Authority had hired the services of RITES as consultant to prepare the detailed project report for the heliport. Officials said that the final approval from the state government is expected within a month.
