CCIA study says big tech break-up would cost US economy USD 300 bln

Proposed legislation in the US to rein in large online platforms and marketplaces could cost the economy USD 300 billion, according to a study commissioned by the Computer & Communications Industry Association (CCIA). Conducted by Nera Consulting, the study looked at the potential effects of three bills pending in Congress, covering common carrier, structural separation and other business restrictions for online platforms.
