Goa Carbon surges over 2% on resuming operations at Goa unit

After preliminary heat up, feeding of raw material will commence and normal production is likely to resume from today.

Goa Carbon Ltd has informed the exchange that the maintenance work at the Company's Goa Unit located has been resumed.

The company said in a regulatory filing on Thursday, "Goa Unit plant situated at St. Jose de Areal, Salcete-Goa has been completed and the Kiln has been lit up from yesterday. After preliminary heat up, feeding of raw material will commence and normal production is likely to resume from today."

At around 1:16 PM, Goa Carbon was trading at Rs388.70 apiece up by Rs8.45 or 2.22% on Sensex.

The stock has touched intraday high and low of Rs397 apiece and Rs376.95 apiece respectively on Thursday's trading session.
