Chennai: Tamilnadu’s daily Covid-19 case count fell to 1,170 on Wednesday, pushing its tally to 26,90,633. Its active caseload touched 14,058.
The state saw 1,418 recoveries in the last 24 hours taking the cumulative recoveries to 26,40,627. The death toll has mounted to 35,948 with 20 more deaths in the last 24 hours.
Chennai reported 148 (156) new cases, while Coimbatore added 141 (127). As many as 1,48,437 persons were vaccinated on Wednesday (1,66,866 persons on Tuesday), as per State Health Department data.
Nine districts reported new cases below 10, while Perambalur recorded the least with two.
