Stock market update: FMCG stocks up as market falls

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading higher on Thursday at 09:59AM

Euro India Fresh Foods(up 4.03%), Hatsun Agro Product Ltd(up 1.36%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories(up 1.22%), Umang Dairies(up 1.12%), Heritage Foods(up 1.06%), Tasty Bite Eatables(up 0.73%), ADF Foods(up 0.73%), Mrs Bectors Food Specialities(up 0.61%), Vadilal Industries(up 0.40%) and Varun Beverages(up 0.38%) were among the top gainers.

Nakoda Group(down 4.99%), Future Consumer(down 1.33%), Dodla Dairy(down 1.19%), Jyothy Labs(down 1.00%), Hind.Foods(down 0.69%), Gillette India(down 0.60%), Marico(down 0.49%), Britannia Industries(down 0.34%), Bajaj Consumer(down 0.31%) and P & G Hygiene(down 0.29%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 3.2 points up at 18269.8, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 45.19 points at 61214.77 at around 09:59AM.

Indian Oil Corporation(up 3.41%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 2.71%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 2.56%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 2.29%), Eicher Motors(up 1.46%), HDFC(up 1.22%), Tata Motors(up 1.1%), Cipla(up 1.02%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 1.01%) and Power Grid Corporation of India(up 1.0%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, HCL Technologies(down 1.52%), Tech Mahindra(down 1.51%), Tata Consultancy(down 1.07%), Asian Paints(down 0.97%), Reliance Industries(down 0.92%), Hero MotoCorp(down 0.85%), ITC(down 0.57%), IndusInd Bank(down 0.43%), Wipro(down 0.37%) and ICICI Bank(down 0.34%) were trading in the red.
