Tirupur: Officials of the Tirupur corporation continued the drive to clear encroachments from pavements and evicted shops on Wednesday. Farmers, selling produce at Thennampalayam Uzhavar Sandhi, had complained to district authorities and Tirupur corporation about the pavement shops that had mushroomed outside the market, affecting their business. A team of senior corporation officials conducted inspection and removed 50 shops. The officials, who visited the market on Wednesday, found that several shops had come up again on the pavement. Corporation staff were deployed to remove the shops.
