After a season-long, pandemic-induced hiatus, Drake was back courtside at the Raptors game on Wednesday night. And all of two quarters into his return, the rapper was in a spat with Montrezl Harrell.
Though Harrell said afterward that it was merely friendly trash talk, the Wizards forward picked up a technical foul as a result of the exchange.
“Me and Drake was laughing,” Harrell told reporters, per TMZ. “There was no problem. Me and Drake cool. We even talked after the game.”
Harrell said the technical occurred because a Raptors coach got involved. The foul was assessed when Harrell talked back to the coach.
The 27-year old is campaigning to have his $2,000 technical fine rescinded.
“That definitely shouldn’t have been no tech,” Harrell said. “If so, you gotta give it to me and the coach.”

Harrell did get the last laugh over Drake as the Wizards beat the Raptors, 98-83. Harrell scored 22 points with nine rebounds in 26 minutes off the bench for Washington.
