India completes 100 crore jabs: How Modi govt made the invincible task possible
New Delhi: In a huge milestone in India’s vaccination drive, the nation on Thursday completed administering 100 crore vaccine doses. This has created a world record as India is the only country in the world to have carried out such a mammoth vaccination drive and achieved the invincible target.
India launched its vaccination drive on January 16, 2021. Starting off with healthcare workers, the ambit of vaccination was first expanded to senior citizens aged 60, then people aged 45 & above and eventually from May 1, all people above 18 years were made eligible for Covid-19 vaccination.
Achieving such a mammoth 100 crore mark is no less than a history in the making. Though the nation deserves credit for this accomplishment, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s keen interest, personal focus and thrust on the Covid-19 vaccine drive made the target achievable.
Right from planning & preparation for vaccination to reviewing the pharma companies for preparedness and routine video conferences with the Chief Ministers went a long way in bolstering the vaccine drive and ensuring the last-mile delivery.
Modi govt’s decision to export life-saving drugs to Western countries during the 1st phase of the Covid-19 wave and Vaccine Maitri during 2nd wave earned global praise for its assistance in the humanitarian crisis.
PM Modi led from the front in achieving 100 crore mark
Today, India celebrates the historic landmark in vaccination drive but had it not been PM Modi’s active coordination with scientists, health workers & front-line workers and display of a stellar leadership in pulling the nation out of Covid-19 crisis, the target would have been far-fetched.
