Share market update: Most active stocks of the day in terms of traded value

NEW DELHI: IRCTC(Rs. 4214.27 crore), Tata Motors(Rs. 2616.12 crore), RIL(Rs. 2540.83 crore), Kotak Bank(Rs. 1995.79 crore), Tata Power(Rs. 1877.66 crore), TCS(Rs. 1727.46 crore), Infosys(Rs. 1552.38 crore), Asian Paints(Rs. 1541.25 crore), MindTree(Rs. 1447.91 crore) and Indian Energy Exchg(Rs. 1407.99 crore) were among the most traded securities on the National Stock Exchange in Thursday's session.

The NSE Nifty index ended the session 88.5 points down at 18178.1, while BSE Sensex fell 336.46 points to 60923.5.

In the Nifty index, Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 6.37 per cent), Tata Motors Ltd.(up 4.33 per cent), Grasim Industries Ltd.(up 3.15 per cent), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(up 2.26 per cent) and Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd.(up 1.75 per cent) stood among the top gainers.

On the other hand, Asian Paints Ltd.(down 5.29 per cent), Hindalco Industries Ltd.(down 3.74 per cent), Reliance Industries Ltd.(down 2.88 per cent), Infosys Ltd.(down 2.70 per cent) and Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(down 2.15 per cent) were among the top losers of the day.
