Dehradun, Oct 21 (UNI) Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday conducted an aerial survey of the rain-affected areas of Garhwal and Kumaon divisions in Uttarakhand.
Shah conducted the aerial survey of Devprayag, Pauri, Ramnagar, Ramgarh, Rudrapur and Haldwani for about two hours and took stock of the situation. During this, Governor Lt Gen Gurmeet Singh, Union Minister of State for Defense Ajay Bhatt, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Anil Baluni, Uttarakhand Minister Dhan Singh Rawat and Chief Secretary SS Sandhu were also present.
Shah however, did not make any announcement during his visit. The Union Home Minister said that the situation was brought under control in time due to the warning issued by the Central Government in advance.
No tourist has died during the disaster and 3500 people have been rescued safely. 17 teams of central and state government are deployed for the relief work.
Shah discussed the situation with the officials of the departments engaged in relief work in the state guest house.
