The boyfriend of an influencer killed in a horror car crash has passed away from his injuries.

The 23-year-old, who has not been named, died days after Paige Rice, 22, following the smash in Liverpool, on Sunday.

The man had been driving with Ms Rice in the passenger seat when their Audi S3 hit a taxi in Queensway tunnel at 12.30am.

Ms Rice, from Birmingham, died in the early hours of Sunday morning, it emerged today her boyfriend had passed away while the cab driver has serious injuries.

It comes after Manchester City star Jack Grealish paid tribute to Ms Rice as thousands of pounds were raised in her memory.

The England winger gave a £5,000 donation on a fundraising website set up in memory of her.

A tribute to Ms Rice was posted on her Instagram account by her mother, who told her 19,000 followers: 'She lived life to its fullest.

'She had big dreams and Paige always made things happen, her drive to succeed was inspirational.'

The post was shared by Grealish on his Instagram stories, with the comment 'RIP Paige' and emojis of a crying face and a broken heart.

More than £30,000 was raised on the GoFundMe page set up to support her family following her death.

A message on the page, titled 'For Our Paige', said: 'An inspiring woman who had so much life to live and goals to achieve, she has left so many with empty hearts.'

Inspector Mark Worrell said: 'Our thoughts go out to the family of the woman who died and those who were injured in this collision.

'The incident is currently under investigation and I would ask anyone who saw anything prior to the collision which could assist our enquiries to get in touch.

'It is believed that prior to entering the tunnel the Audi had been in collision with another vehicle on the Hunter Street roundabout. We are currently examining a number of lines of enquiry.'
