A pilates instructor who suffered severe acne has revealed how she cleared up her skin in a matter of months after she overhauled her skincare regime.
Brianna-Lee Schiefelbein, from Queensland, started developing pimples in her teenage years - but she noticed her skin worsen as she got older.
Her acne was so 'angry' and 'inflamed', she no longer had the confidence to put her garbage out or check her mailbox without applying makeup first.
'If I were to summarise my acne in one word, it would be "angry". I never understood why I had acne while living such a healthy and active lifestyle. I felt defeated,' the 25-year-old business owner told Daily Mail Australia.
'It was very red, especially around my jawline and cheekbones. It was uncomfortable, itchy, and flared up around that time of the month and during stressful times.'

She developed pimples in her teenage years - but noticed her skin worsen as she got older. Despite her excruciating long battle, Brianna-Lee managed to transform her skin in just three months after she discovered Edible Beauty, a natural skincare range

But long before finding a solution, she noticed her acne became really severe when she started weight training at the age of 19

But long before finding a solution, she noticed her acne became really severe when she started weight training at the age of 19.
'Suffering from acne for so long had a negative impact on my mental health and self-confidence, which I am currently still working on,' she said.
'I had zero pictures of myself for years because I was embarrassed and ashamed. I would decline many social invitations, avoid mirrors and any type of lighting.'
She tried everything imaginable to clear her skin, ranging from expensive treatments, regular peels and dermal needling to trying diets and cleanses and meeting with multiple doctors - but nothing seemed to work.
'For a number of years, I tried various skin treatments and noticed some progress, but then I would flare-up,' she said.
'I tried many diets and cleanses but I only noticed short-term benefits. I removed dairy from my diet and continue to do so. I visited many GPs and had frequent tests to determine the problem, but I still didn't have answers.'

Brianna-Lee - who's in her final year of studying a bachelor in nutrition and psychology at a university - started doing her own research in early 2018.
'I began healing my skin by researching and studying, removing home toxins, improving my nutrition, and using high-quality natural skincare,' she said.
'I decided to make the switch to holistic living and began altering my lifestyle and skincare products.'
She saw dramatic improvements in her skin within three months of using the 'miracle' Edible Beauty products.
'I couldn't believe my eyes. I definitely shed a tear or two,' she said.

Brianna-Lee now feels happier and more confident after she managed to clear her skin

She now wants people battling severe acne to draw hope from her experience so they can find a solution to their problematic skin
Her morning routine now includes cleansing her face, followed by an 'illuminating' oil and a toner mist.
Before bedtime, she would cleanse her face before applying a toner, followed by a 'turmeric' formula, serum and a silky hydrating lotion.
'The Turmeric Beauty Latte serum is my favourite. It has helped in the reduction of my breakouts, redness, and overall complexion. It is gentle, light, and non-stripping,' she said.
She also massages her face for five to 10 minutes with a gua sha, a traditional Chinese healing tool that helps relieve tension in the face, reduce puffiness and inflammation.
Twice a week, she would steam and exfoliate her skin and use a mask.
'My skincare regimen always comes first, no matter how busy I am. I switch between oils and serums,' she said.
By sharing her story, Brianna-Lee - who documents her skin transformation on her Instagram - said she wants people battling severe acne to draw hope from her experience so they can find a solution to their problematic skin.
'I'm proud of myself for trusting my instincts, staying committed, and being patient with my skin journey. Through diet and psychology, I aim to support other women with skin health concerns,' she said.
'It is important to remember that skin health is a combination of internal and external factors and one size doesn't fit all.'
